The highlight of lunch was the pink lemonade cupcakes, made in the style of Dewey's Bakery in Winston Salem, NC. They weren't QUITE as good, but close. Alice liked them so much she licked the cupcake liner when she finished - the icing was the best.
Alice got lots of gifts:
Pink chimes
A Jitterbug phone (which is actually in route, so she got a wrapped picture)
A Life is Good MOM t-shirt (also in route, so she opened another wrapped picture)
Bob Barker's Priceless Memories Book, postage stamps with her picture (and some with Shorti and Pat, too)
Cards in a pretty pink suitcase
She also got some pretty cards, even one from Lucy the Dog.

After lunch, granddaughter Beth refilled Alice's bird feeders and trimmed the flowers in her window box. Mary Pat said that Beth was the biggest red-headed woodpecker she'd ever seen.
Once the festivities were over, Alice sat down for a few minutes, but she and Shorti were planning a trip to the grocery store.
